Outdoor Casing of Psilocybe cubensis: Eaten by Mr Squirrel

by MadSeasonAbove's request, Here are the images of the squirrel eating Psilocybe cubensis:
first a before image of the outdoor casing:
next you see the squirrel encroaching upon the shroom patch:
now you see the master shroom hunter (squirrel) eating the shrooms:
and finally a picture of the aftermath:
and that wasnt the end of it, the squirrel kept returning for more, he would be running around the yard all day long, eating shrooms and jumping from tree to tree, shrooming its squirrely little head off.
it was a casing made of popcorn, the squirrel also ended up digging up the popcorn, of which was coated with mycelium, and eating it too.
so that is the shroomy squirrel story.

Very nice. Shame yo di dnot have a nikon with a macro lens and an extension so the squirrel would have been in focus with the rest of the imagery. Cook sequence. i have one of one squirrel, teow squirrels and three all screwing to gethrer. And then the shot I took last fall of the Amanita squirrel who ran up my pants and grabbed at my nuts. Posted that image somewhere here a while back a year or two ago.
Later GGreatOne234. That is awesome.

man that squirrel must have tripped really hard. after all thats a lot of mush for something that weighs 2-3 lbs. but seriously, can other animals experience the pychoactive effects of mushrooms? i would guess high level mamals can but i don't think reptiles could. what do u guys think?

thats funny.
Id think the little guy might just be interested in the popcorn, but apparently this squirrel's an electric warrior!...considering there are about 8-12 specimens missing in that after shot.
if animals really can feel the effects of psychotropic compounds...well that little bastard must be on planet 9, having profound inner squirrel revelations. hes probably lost his little squirrel ego by now and has irrationally decided to give away all his hard-earned nuts to other less fortunate squirrels.

Yes! thats awesome! Thanks for sharing GG. That is one happy squirrel, I can see it in its eyes. hehehehe.
I bet you have a friend forever! lol
btw, how the heck did you case that w/o disturbing the roots of the tree? how deep did you put the colonized corn? That is inspiring.

it was a few quart jars of popcorn colonized with BHT mycelium, then topped with a thin layer of unsterilized potting soil.
