Let's start with the books I own already: One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest - Ken Kesey Slaughter House Five - Kurt Vonnegut Jr. The Doors Of Perception - Aldous Huxley Heaven And Hell - Aldous Huxley Hell's Angels - Dr. Hunter S. Thompson The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test - Tom Wolfe Fear and Loathing On The Campaign Trail '72 - Dr. HST Hells Angels (The Life and Times Of Sonny Barger and The Hell's Angels Motorcycle Club) - Ralph "Sonny" Barger The Hobbit - J. R. R. Tolkien (The Lord Of The Rings books are drawn out and have a habbit to suck very badly) The Dark Tower Series - Stephen King The Hitchhiker's Guide Series - Douglas Adams (read em years ago before they were cool ) SO, what should I add to the collection people?

that was actually my least favourite Rushdie book (albeit his most infamous one!). I'd recommend Grimus (his first book, very weird), Midnights Children (a freaking epic, but great), and the Jaguar Smiles (non-fiction about his living in Nicaragua during the contra times) as three interesting places to start in the Rushdie library.
but do you just want entheogenic books, or good books in general?
In terms of authors that never really go wrong - Herman Hesse, Kerouac, Aldous Huxley (read Island, not Brave New World!), Charles Bukowski (his novels are freaking hillarious!), Hemmingway (you'll either hate him or love him), ahh the list goes on and on and on... i need to finish getting stoned and get to work, but i'll post more later!

Franny & Zooey - JD Salinger Bluebeard - Kurt Vonnegut (just about everything by him anyway) Electric Kool Aid Acid Test - Tom Wolfe High Priest - Timothy Leary Breaking Open the Head - Daniel Pinchbeck (good but a bit overrated) Empire State - Colin Bateman
-------------------- "You've got to get hold of the thread of marching time, pull the fuck thing down, get on the end of it and pang yourself to the infinitude of absolute mind" Ken Campbell - Furtive Nudist "The mystery of life is not a problem to be solved but a reality to be experienced" - Aart van der Leeuw
