Hey, sorry if this has been mentioned here already, but i thought some people might be interested. If ur a tool fan you more than likely know this, but for those who dont, Tool is working on a new album (have been for over a year now). It is in the final stages, where they are busy recording the tracks in the studio and having them mastred. One of the tracks is 18 min long, another is 11 min long, Danny Carey (the drummer if u didnt know) said the 18min long song is the greatest piece of music he has been a part of creating, this is amazing to be coming from a drummer of his skill level. They are also releasing a DVD soon, with Live footage from the Lateralus tour and a lot more, chances are the DVD will be released first, followed by the new album, this is what happned with Salival.

New Tool will be the best album ever. It's already my favorite album.
Actually, I really want them to release a CD of 20 3 minute christian soft rock songs. That would be sooo funny, especially if they were serious about it for a while.
But, barring that, this album will be the best album ever.

Yeh, i cant wait either, it will be my first tool concert. I JUST missed out on the Lateralus tour, and it is the biggest regret of my life, no exageration .
The next album is going to absolutely mind-blowing IMO, the guy who updates their web-page said that to say that theyve stepped their skills up a notch would be a complete understatement(although known for joking around, he wouldnt joke about this, because that would be a complete advertising campaign to lure people into the album, and this is something tool are strongly against). Danny has a brand new set of electronic pads custom made that are being incorporated into his acoustic, with a new "Brain" for all his electronic sounds as well (box the pads plug into). Adam has a whole lot of new effects units that he is doing some amazing stuff with, as is Maynard, apparently he has been experimenting with some types of weird effects with his voice which will be VERY interesting. And Justin (who received a HUGE amount of interest from bass players around the world after his amazing skill on Lateralus) has said if they were impressed with what they saw on the previous album, just wait till the next album is released.
BTW, any of you guys check out the new art-work on the intro page. With the spiraling colours swirling around the tool logo?? Its awesome, its been called "growing art", when it was first uploaded the swirls were pretty small, but everyday they get bigger and bigger, probably to reflect the progress of the new album .

Hell yeah...I'd go alone if no one wanted to go. Most of my friends like Tool though...so that would never be a problem for me.

Im hoping this as well, and i think its going to happen. When you look at all of tools albums, the last track has always given a glimpse of what the next albums feel will be. Another thing is this:
Quote:
BMB: ...with writing/arranging sessions going well into what Milton called ?the palpable obscure.?...
That is a quote from one of the Newsletters on tools website.
That statement means that Tools writing/arranging sessions go well into a place, feeling or emotion that is best described by the Author 'John Milton' as "The Palpable Obscure".
I found a site that had the description of "The Palpable Obscure" by John Milton & i really like what TOOL could be creating in that place. Because the two songs on Lateralus that match the description of "The Palpable Obscure" are Reflection & Triad, the last 2 tracks on Lateralus, & i think most people know about the link of the last song on each album with the style of the next.
Quote:
John Milton: To heal the scar of these corrosive fires, Shall breathe her balm. But, first, whom shall we send In search of this new World? whom shall we find Sufficient? who shall tempt with wandering feet The dark, unbottomed, infinite Abyss, And through the palpable obscure find out His uncouth way, or spread his airy flight...."
He describes The Palpable Obscure as:
Dark Unbottomed Infinite
Im sure you can see why i linked that description to Reflection and Triad.
Akasha.

SWEET!!!!!! I can't wait!
I hope that TOOL leans more in the direction they were taking with this/these track(s)(Reflection/Disposition/Triad)too.
It is unfortunate that you missed TOOL on this last tour. The best show I have "EVER" seen! And you can quote me on that... I went all by my lonesome to see these Gods of Rock. I wasn't in the least bit disappointed to be there alone. It was nearly a spiritual experience for me. I have seen them three time and they get better every time I see them.
Disposition/Reflection/Triad is my favorite track and they played it when I saw them last! I was blown away! A beautiful performance! They took a bow at the end and gave each other hugs and walked off the stage to the crowd screaming, "Encore!", unfortunately they didn't return. But hey, how can you complain about that, when you've just witnessed such a mind blowing performance?

Anticipation...I am so stoked to see them again, live they are freakin' intense! I actually want them to wait to tour awhile so I can save up some money, then when they roll through the area I can see a few dates. On tour with Tool!

I heard TOOL was releasing a live (DVD?) album very soon, I find this a strange thing to do right before the release of the new album.
