I just completed my first break in
    #4192551 - 05/18/05 07:03 PM (18 years, 10 months ago)

...to my apartments electricity shelter, where they keep all the meters.

You see, I used to not be able to run 3 appliances at a time, because it would short the meter out. I usually can run 2 no problem, so today I was just doing the laundary.

And the electricity goes out. I'm like...grrr...that sucks. But I know that all I have to do is reset the meter.

So I go outside to the shelter thingie...and discover it's locked.

Now, when I realize this, I get SUPER pissed, because number 1, the lock is brand new, and number 2, WTF do those apartment people think they're doing? What do they expect us to do, wait around to get our electricity back when it goes out, just because these apartments are cheap assholes??! (there is no emergency maintenance for us to call, we just have to wait for whenever the office is open)

The possiblity of going the entire night without electricity infuriated me further, and strethened my resolve.

I was like, "I don't think so," ran up to get my tool, ran back down, and unscrewed a little metal plate holding the shelter closed at the top. It came out easily, so then I tore the door open. I didn't break it, but it stretched the lock enough so that I could see inside. There was my meter. Everyone else's was going but mine.

So I climbed up to reset it, nearly broke my freaking toe, and then climbed back down and went back inside to find my electricity on.

Anyway, that was the story of my first break in.

I'm still annoyed that I even had to do it, but going without elecriticity for a night was not an option.

Nice..I've never broken in anywhere..I don't think, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Arbitrary rules suck, so break em when you can.

hey, when the office is open, repeadidly blow your breaker and make them keep fixing it. Be like "yea, i used to just hit this right here, but you guys put a lock on it..... " and the will be so annoyed by it that they will have to do something... but by all means, DO NOT tell them to fix it. that's the number way to not get something done. just maintain your innocence and have them keep fixing your electricity.

Congratulations on your first break-in.. haha.. Just don't make a habit of it because it will become addicting. I'm just kidding of course.
