Is it detectable?
Ie.. traveling with it: Safe or an incredibly stupid idea?

I've travelled with worse. I wouldn't be scared as long as it was a personal stash.

If you have just a couple and are paranoid, throw them in a gift box with other assorted chocolates. It helps if they don't look like just blobs of chocolate though and are shaped

Good idea you could do dozens of other similar things with them also.

Thank you!
They are chocolate bars packaged inside little boxes.. labeled as if it were plain chocolate, though certainly not a brand name. I just have a few.. they'd be in checked baggage. Sounds like I'll be fine, no?

I probably wouldn't worry about it but understand what is going to happen if they find those. You make damn sure you trust the situation.

Baggage check in Airport? Hrmm, I wouldn't do it but I know friends that have got through with much less stealthy items when flying internationally. You may consider mailing a box of chocolates to your hotel suite or whatever to be waiting on you.

Maybe I should have been more specific when I said "travel".
Alright, so, bad idea?
I could put the foil wrapped chocolate in brand name wrappers..

Make it look like candy and carry it on. Or take the safe route and don't do it at all.

In case anyone was wondering, I had absolutely no problem.. brought them in my carry on. Customs didn't search us, so I can't say what would've happened if they had.. but it does look like normal chocolate from the outside. I threw in some other kinds of chocolate in the bag to be safe.
I should add that we were coming from Amsterdam..
Of course we stashed our "Amsterdam" hats in our bags before going through customs..
Thanks again for the feedback. My boyfriend and I will benefit greatly in the near future.
