will a food dehydrator work or will it take from the potency of the mushrooms?

ive heard of it working but if it heats up too much it might damage the potency

It usually just depends on the food dehydrator. Certain ones use a low or no heating element for the process of drying out the food. This way you don't have to worry about the dehydrator becoming too hot for the mushrooms to decrease in potency.

Do you have a certain brand of dehydrator or were you just asking in general?

food dehydrators work great. Just make sure that you get one that doesnt expel heat.

A food dehydrator without a heat source is just a fan in a closed space.

You might as well use a fan if you're going that route.

What you want is a food dehydrator that has a variable temperature setting... needs to be able to go down to about 90-100 degrees.

exactly what i was thinking. they dont sell food dehydrators without a heat source. thats how a food dehydrator works!

Absolutely... I like to use my dehydrator til they're ALMOST dry, then finish in desiccant chamber... gets 'em freaking powder-dry.
