Iboga and nicotine
    #4076056 - 04/20/05 07:27 AM (19 years, 1 day ago)

I was reading in a book called "Breaking open the head" by Daniel Pinchbeck, and it mentioned how certain individuals that undergo a iboga ceremony with a Bwiti tribe has weaned themselves away from heroin. He also mentioned that these certain individuals had no desire or cravings for opiates after their experience. I hear that tobacco is as addicting as heroin, could this mean that a proper iboga experience can possibly cease my cigarette addiction?

I wouldnt consider nicotine addiction a fly myself as it kills so many people who want to stop.

If you wanna quit though there is only one way IMO, cold turkey. Sure it fucking sucks the first few weeks and the games your mind will play on you are so convincing but you must keep in mind the pain that nicotine has caused through all the cravings and tricks.

I read that book too. If you could get the chance to use iboga why not? I'm sure you could quit smoking otherwise but what a gtood excuse to go to africa, have a thirty hour trip and get beaten by tribesmen. Id do it but I already quit smoking. Damnit!

-Iboga and nicotine? So THAT'S why when I woke up this morning the words "Iboga and nicotiana" were stuck in my head. I thought I was crazy.

Someone keeps telling me to do it for that reason, and I would love to, but haven't the good fortune.

I've wondered about taking iboga without a Bwiti innitiation. Would it still be a powerful cure for addiction? I plan on bringing back a lot of iboga to the states, from africa.

Who knows, it would be a good experiment, because maybe the combo of innitiation and iboga does the job, maybe just the iboga, mqaybe just the inniation, perhaps?
