Should I be a nurse? (or a court reporter or a vet tech)...looking for a career to train in

Well, my primary goal in life is to be a novelist. But the bills have to be paid until that day comes.
So I'm looking for an occupation that I can train in at a community college. I'm planning to keep going with my education after I get a 2 yr degree, but I'd also like to have some credentials by that time too.
So what should I be? I really like animals so I was thinking maybe I should be a vet tech. But at the same time, it appears that there is a lot of math involved, and I am so poor at that. Would nursing be the same way? My father in law thinks I should be a court reporter.
What's a good occupation that doesn't require more then 2 yrs training to earn?

Vet tech is very good choice in my opinion, but being one i guess im a little biased??? It really doesn't involve much math, a little bit to calculate doses, really nothing hard though. You cant get queesy about things though you can see some nasty wounds. I wouldn't pick nursing, i feel that it triples the grossness when humans have abcess's and the such. If your really interested in becoming a tech PM me and i can give ya some info on it that is a little more detailed.

Ya a vet tech is pretty good but if you really love animals, a vet is not always the best thing to be---you will see alot of euphonizing (putting to sleep) then again you will have access to the Ketamine (jk) A career move is gonna be a bigger choice then the response you get on a forum. Im a dragon slayer as of now, but it's been hard finding work lately.

you will ALWAYS be able to find a job as a nurse, just look through the want ads... there is a HUGE shortage of them across the country, also it is a very noble job

You seem like a very nurturing type of person. I'd say nursing would be a good idea. Nurses are always in demand.
