Mycellium Pic- Why So Fluffy?
    #4040008 - 04/11/05 04:39 AM (18 years, 11 months ago)

Why is this myc all fluffy? It looks like foam bubbles or something. It's definitely not a contam or anything, but why'd it get like that? (USVI on rye)

Possibly a slight over saturation. That shouldn't be a problem though. Keep up the good work.

yea not a problem, the bottom of my jars always seem to colonize in that way. As pyriel said its most probably because of water build up at the bottom of you jar and because of the space between the cake and the jar if you gave it a slap on the bum and flipped while colonizing. Looks like you must be nearly ready to birth. Goodluck!

Um, cottony growing tends to happen on top of microboxes to me too, just case or birth as usual.
