Congrats on the achievement of your first casing success, there's nothing like it. You'll progress and learn at a fast rate if you stick with it, and the rest comes naturally. Certain things that just can't be taught in teks, like "field capacity", etc., you'll pick up on your own later. That's a nice place to be, because you just know what's right for the mushrooms.
Anyways, you're on the way. +5

I dunno bout that....when I pull my guys out I just patch up any holes left. It may hold your substrate together better but you are till gunna have chunks of stem in it that are going to rot.

Don't front sucka...it took me about that time to get a good casing down.
It takes lots of practice, patience and persistence.
So until you show us a perfect casing plz STFU!

Seriously, contribute something good or take your negativity and hit the road. We don't need it. This is not an art learned fast.

What strain is that? How many jars went into the casing? What was the casing material? Method of humidification?

WTG dj!~
this is a learning process...you did great...no contams. and you got some fruits!~
next time initiate fruiting when the mycelium is just starting to break through the casing layer.
keep the casing layer moist.
