Verm Bottom of Casing

I have read conflicting peices of information on this board. Can someone please set me straight. The bottom layer of verm on a casing. Dry or wet?

You dont need a bottom...if you want a bottom use perlite because of its wicking effect...i had pretty good results using perlite as a base

Wet, the purpose of a bottom layer of verm is to hydrate your substrate.

Ralphie use a little bit of peroxide in the water that you use to get your base wet

So it's wet verm, then the myc thats broken up, then the casing on top (which for my case is going to be composed of verm, oyster shells, lime, and coco coir)?
are you sure about the use of hydrogen peroxide as a supplementary wetting agent of the verm? for some reason I am under the impression that direct contact with the myc would be a negative occurance.

ralphie....bottom casings hide alot of contams.
Do jars...4 inches is great.,break them jars up:)
cover with casing layer...1/4 to 3/8 inch
keep moist....when you see primordia..mist container walls only.

I never use a bottom casing layer for this reason.
not needed.
keep your top casing layer moist and your good to go.
