i live here, but i have no clue, cause i've never gone picking. I know there used to be a shit ton of farms where i live, but they are long gone. There are some farms just outside of town. Keep me posted, we can go picking together or something.

+ 5 for luck. I did find a small patch of what i believe to be Psilocybe caerulipes growing in a local nature area today. Not 100% sure yet, but i've read they are common on the East Coast and grow on mulch in manmade gardens/areas. This describes them exactly. Will pick and ID tommorow.

Thank you for the +5 but it's undeserved. We droved about 40 miles out of Uptown down Rt. 27(Albamarle Rd.) and we saw about 3 cow pastures and a couple of horse ranches. But the area people looked like they were itchin' to shoot the next fence hopper. But yeah, if you're brave enough, head down Rt. 27 for about 30-40 miles and take any turn on to a country road... they are all farms.

never underdeserved! you just let me know not to head that way out of town. Outside of South Charlotte near the ballentyne(spl.) there are a bunch of cow pastures that me and some buddies will be checking out.

Just a reminder to keep this post within the rules because I see the potential for them being broken. Remember, no specific locations allowed.

Outside Gastonia (near Kings Mountain) there are lots and lots of good, open pastures with lots of potential- but I've never fouind more than a pan subb within their confines (an oxymoron if I've ever heard one). And BTW- ps. caerulipes are not found more often than never in NC (hardly)- I think I found a couple in six years of serious hunting-still not terribly sure that's what they were- and they would not be out now. Not for months. Good luck and don't get arrested- the area houses cattle traders and the like that may provide some roomn for cubes to grow, but Charlotte is so far west and at such an elevation that I doubt you'll find more than one or two a year if you are really hip.
