Hey Shroomers! So I posted a while back asking about growing orissa and some experienced shroomer(diver I think) suggested I use poo\straw. Anyway, I've been too busy to start a poo\straw grow and have been continuing with cakes with much success. My question is--I injected 8 jars with the orissa spores at the same time I did 16 jars of Ecuador and the orissa haven't even begun to colonize the jars while the ecuadorian is almost half done. Will the orissa grow? Are they just a slower colonizing strain of cubies? From the conflicting posts that sometimes appear here I've decide to believe the thinking that a cube is a cube is a cube and if I can grow ecuador and transkei on cakes the orissa should grow as well. Feedback please!

The general requirements for the species are the same! Just like the general requirements for homo sapien's are the same. The individuals within the species vary macroscopically, genetically, and spiritually?.

i started some orissa a little wile back.. i was using 500 ml< 1 pint> jars instead of the 250ml<1.2 pint> and it seamed like my jars had stalled or at least growing very slowly, but after some great advice from some guys on here they started to take off. (i believe it was rodgerrabbit) what i was told to do was turn the jars upside down and give it a wack or 2 in the jars, it will probably mess up your verm layer and not needed if the jars arnt stalled... but it did help me. i hope this helps you in some way :P

i inoculated 4 jars with io and one fully colonized, the mycellium is a lil weird compared to other strains ive seen, the mycellim actually made a wirey network on the glass of the jar its self. and it did take foreever to colonize. havent had time to fruit yet, though, just give it time.

when i literally found wild PC's in india, i tried to grow them on BRF. what happened was a VERY slow growing hearty[?] myc network. took nearly 6 weeks for wide mouth 500ml jars. fruiting yeilded ONE wirey, tiny little fruitbody that was impossible to print.
The mother print was taken off a specimin found growing on elephant poo. it was 8"round and 10"tall. It had grown 2 daughters in the 8 hours i was examining it, which were 3"round. T=103F rH=98 at the time.
My advice is to seriously find well fed elephants. How you can do that, is beyond me, unless you are in an area where they are wild...
Dunno if this helps, because the strain I found may or may not be similar to the orissa india strain, but im assuming if it was originally found in india, similar constraints apply. USE POO!

It was a completely wild strain so im sure it wasnt used to switching to BRF from some very organic elephant poo. I was also very novice then, could have fucked up a number of factors. If i ever visit India again, def hunting for that strain I found, and comparing it to a vendors...
