Mesciline Questions...

I seem to be running in circles trying to find mescline, and how to take it. I keep hearing about "dried inssence" but the sites that sell that are down right now.

Right now I can but a 12" peice of Peruvian Torch Cactus for $30.00. Is this the correct one for mesciline use? Do I just eat the thing? That sounds really nasty.  :confused:

The process of eating San Pedro is definitely not fun. It can be tolerated by most serious trippers, but it is difficult to consume enough cactus to get a powerful high. The taste of different trichocereus species ranges from very bitter to tasteless, the varieties with less taste tending to have a slimy consistency. With these varieties the texture is the main obstacle to consuming large quantities. I chew the cactus to a pulp and then wash it down with some liquid. It also helps to eat some full-grain bread as I'm doing this to soak up the liquid in my stomach.

The dark green flesh next to the skin is the most potent part of the cactus and should be eaten first. I do this by flattening out the "V" strips and scraping the flesh off of the skin with my teeth. I then proceed to the central part of the cactus. This should be eaten around like corn on the cob. The flesh on the protruding ribs should be eaten first. The core is woody and not edible. The high begins coming on some 45 minutes after ingesting, and since it takes a while to consume the cactus, one may start feeling high while they are still eating.




I'm confused by the V thing, also I'm not sure if I should do san pedro or Peruvian Torch Cactus, I hear that Peruvian Torch Cactus is more potent. Also I am still unsure if I should be eating all 12 inches or not.

look in here for Mj's tech, it goes through all of that..
but once you taste the cacti you will laugh at this thing that says he eats it like 'corn on the cob'. the shit tastes like something your not supposed to eat, like if you were cleaning with chemicals all day and you licked your hand, it taste like that, but only worse. of course not as bad as some other stuff i hear. :puke:

There are many ways of extracting the stuff. Traditionally it has been boiled up for 24 hours by the natives, however with a kitchen it can be done in 6-8 hours.

Recently in my dreams I prepared a dose for 2 people, using around 45 cm of 12 cm thick cactus per dose. The cactus was frozen over night which is supposed to make de-spining and skinning easier however I'm not sure which would be easier because it thawed out very fast and started to get messy.

First take out the spines but slicing into each side of the spine trying to take away as little of the greenf lesh as possible, so you are left with little diamond shaped notches. Then using a knife cut away the clear lamanant type skin and slowly peel it off. We found this very difficult with the thawing out cactus so it should either be done as soon as it comes out of the freezer or dry, the cactus used was freshly cut down which may have added to the slimyness.

Next chop it in half lengwise and then cut the individual ribs off, then when you have long strips, cut away the core (the round white middle bit) and then dice up whats left, like so..





into the pot with around half cactus to half water, simmer this for around 2-3 hours until the water has changed colour or until you see it burning down below the level of the cactus bits.. this usually took 2 hours for me on low heat.. you don't want to boil the shit out of it  so keep it simmering so you only have to stir occasionally.


When pour out everything into a bowl with a colander on top and squish out all the juice from the cactus flesh, like so..



Then add the bits back into the pot and add more water and repeat the steps, I did this 3 times over about 6-7 hours.

Then when you feel you have boiled all the goodies out of the bits, discard them and return all the filtered juice back into the pot and continue boiling on low heat, when the level of liquid gets lower and lower it with boil faster so you need to keep stirring and monitoring the heat. Eventually it will get thicker, like snot.. when you feel comfortable with the amount you want to drink.. believe me you want to drink as little as possible, stop boiling.



This stuff is pure scatcore, tastes like stomach acid... enjoy :smile:

The only way I can describe the trip is 'everything in existance'

The cactus used was a short spined peruvianus

this was the clone, however older growth from a mature specimen was used

and some times veg. based gel caps don't dissolve for hours!! and it's almost impossible to find gelatin based capsules.

and I've read a few things that suggest that maybe some of the chemicals in the cacti, 'intentionally' make you puke so that you purge the 'hard-to-digest' cacti pulp out of your system instead of trying to pass it.??
this kinda makes sense to me, once you have most of the mesc. in your system, no real reason to have a pound of cacti rind in your intestines,
as long as you don't rupture your throat, cause of the violent puking, becoming the second person to die from mesc.

& if you put the gluppy "tea" in the freezer, it will keep fom several months at least... (& might be less gluppy after freezing; but still tastes pretty bad (but not as bad as peyote :wink: ...)

then there's tinctures - like shots of 151 rum (saturated with cactus alkaloids) in a glass of grapefruit juice or OJ...
or just dry an alcohol extract out down to a tar & put the tar in amaybe 3 or 4 large gelatin capsules (available at many  healthfood stores or even pharmacies, as well as on line) & take 1 capsule every 20 or 30 minutes with a small glass of juice or water or tea... so that it doesn't "hit you" all at once...
