Quick honey water question

I have done honey tek before without incidence.

What I am wondering is, could I do it with just ordinary tap water without any major problems? I know Clubb99 recommends mineral water, but I am curious if tap water or distilled water would work as well?

Also, if I take my own prints, do I lose anything by way of strain strength over generations in using honey water? I read that someone said they HEARD that the strain weakens if you keep using honey/karo water with successive grows. Is it better to use honey water for a a few generations then switch back to a regular spore syringe?

Any idea if the strain weakens if I keep doing honey water? Could I do honey water indefinitely?

In other words, I made a print, made a spore syringe, inoc'ed honey water, made myc syringe, inoc'ed jars with myc syringe, grow mushies, then take new print, new spore syringe, inoc honey water, inoc jars with myc syringe, etc etc etc...

I've always used tap water with honey solutions and never once had a problem with growth or anything.
I wouldn't go past 3 generations with liquid culture. Seems to get weak after that.

I guess I could just take multiple prints from each generation(for 3 generations) to make the most out of the honey water then.

If you really want to make your honey jar go far, i'd recommend innoculating 2 jars with honey water and then go G2G with the honey spawn to multiple jars. I'd go with Karo instead of honey too.
