 my job is going away

i work at a call center..had a staff meeting today and it turns out the phones are going to stop ringing as of April 1. i hate job hunting

Probably. Outsourcing ( until I'm running a large corporation in need of a call center  )

this is a good thing for you because it's going to give you
an opportunity to find a new job and skillset in something
more useful than being a phone monkey.
outsourcing is good for american workers because it ships
shitcan jobs off and allows us to continue developing a
more sophisticated work force.

nah, they're eliminating the need for us altogether, which i understand. i frequently said my job is completely unecessary, but it paid well. much better than what most college kids can get around here.

i agree, i always enjoy learning new things. but it's not easy to find a good paying job here while trying to navigate classes as well.

I love those Dell Commercials where someone calls a call center and its and american person on the line. "YOu're here 24 hours a Day? Yes sir we are!".
Shit man you go to call them up and its some Punjab Indian dude on the other side of the line talking to you with his barely understandable english accent voice. SHIT MAN
Atleast they should do call centers in like Jamaica, You can understande Jamaicans way better man.

Then you move. I've moved several times to get good work. In the last few years I've been a tree planter, roughneck, recovering gold ore... it's a friggen blast man. Remember there are always jobs that poeple hate, these are the best ones to take imo.

You can always get a job in the restarant business...it isn't the best paying job, or the most fun, but it pays the bills...and a lot of peeps like to go out and eat...
