i have pretty bad speech problems. When i talk and socialize i always end up talking slowly into a slurr and people end up saying "wtf did u say?" also when i talk especially to a girl i like i get all tensed up and stutter extremely bad. I have to concentrate soo hard to keep my voice at normal strength and pace. Is there any exercises i can do to speak better? its starting to really get on my nerves.

I am shure there are a lot of things you can do about it.
I would start searching the web for info, i am shure there are exercises you can do. Just be positive about it.If you stay happy, you will see progress fater
Consider asking some professional advice, i know there are doctors who are specialized on this, they can give you good advice
What drugs do you use, if any? I had a friend who had the same problem, but as soon as he cut off some substances ,he found out they where responsible for not leting him heal his speech
Spirit must stay healthy
Be positive

I think that if you are really into what you're saying and take the time to say it, you will be able to talk clearly at a normal volume. Atleast that's how it is for me. The problem is that I usually feel like I'm talking just to talk, not to say something. So I'm not really into what I'm saying. I end up talking softly and not pronouncing my words because my mouth isn't really moving enough.
One thing that I found that can help is wearing a sweatshirt with a hood. You will talk louder because you're used to hearing yourself talk at a certain volume. With something over your ears, you compensate by talking louder.

you probably need to work on your articulation of speach. practice slowly (not reaaaaallllyyy sloooow or it will sound retarded ) and take your time to say what you want to say. First it will feel awkward but after a while it'll go fluently again but better understandable.
if you can't do it yourself the advice in the quote below is good

there are many people with speach problems and it can be a hassle in daily life so going to a specialist when you can't fix it yourself is a good idea
bwt with the 'girl thing' you need to work on your self esteem maybe (?) so that you aren't tense anymore when around them

i have a mild form of espressive aphasia, where words are often on the tip of my tounge but they won't surface, making it really hard to talk to people. there are often strange gaps in my sentences where i try to think of the word im trying to say; it comes off really awkward and its really fucking annoying.

My grandmother had severe aphasia after she suffered a stroke towards the last years of her life. She had what you described but like 1000 times worse. You could tell that she had something she wanted to tell you but all the came out was slur. She could however say yes and no and she could clearly understand what we were talking about. Pretty sad actually.

I have a mouth full of metal right now. It sucks because I have a lisp and I can't form words properly anymore with my lips, which get pushed out by the wires in my mouth. Whenever I talk to some random person, it always comes out garbled and I have to repeat myself. Only my friends can comprehend what I am saying the first time. Gah! Blech! I feel like ripping these godamn brackets out of my mouth.
What is keeping you from talking loud? Do you not like the sound of your voice? Slurring speech, if it is not a developmental problem, could be a result of you thinking too hard about what to say, even after you've begun saying it. Just relax and learn to be comfortable around people. Socialize whenever you get the chance, but not to the point where you are sick of people in general.

If you think about it, and worry about it, it will happen. Don't even think about, and it'll get better.

I have a serious problem with heavy slurring at times. But for some reason it only sets in on Friday nights around midnight..

All I can really say is that nervousness can affect speech like this. I have taken some courses in speaking in performing arts, so I generally dont have a problem saying what I mean or people not understanding. I do see many people who speak very quietly or their words all run together. This I think may just be a symptom of fear of being judged. I know this guy who can be 3 feet from me and talking to me and I wouldnt catch any of it. I may be way off on this but i still think its a confidence thing.
