    #3846120 - 02/28/05 10:27 AM (19 years, 1 month ago)

How helpfull is the straw technique?

Are there any cons you should keep in mind when using this?
From what I see it's a good way to keep the cake moist.
Will it increase yeld? Does it increase contam?
Any feedback is well appreciated.

Thanks for the help

Junka

And I said, I don't care if they lay me off either, because I told, I told Bill that if they move my desk one more time, then, then I'm, I'm quitting, I'm going to quit. And, and I told Don too, because they've moved my desk ...four times already this year and I used to be over by the window and I could see the squirrels, and they were merry, but then, they switched from the Swingline to the Boston stapler, but I kept my Swingline stapler because it didn't bind up as much and I kept the staples for the Swingline stapler and its not okay because if they take my stapler then I'll set the building on fire.

The straw trick has been pretty much entirely replaced by dunking.

For anyone not familiar with straw tek, it involves jabbing drinking straws into your cakes and dribbling water into the straws for the mycelium to absorb. It was a significant advancement at the time. It probably works just about as well as dunking and is a perfectly viable method that deserves more attention.

Because it is used so rarely now, I think it warrants being classified as "Advanced".
