looks nice. you might want to think about boxing the fan so you can install a prefilter.

maybe you could make us an FAQ article on "How do I build a laminar flow hood from scratch?" and submit it to the FAQ Forum. ?

How thick are those filters? You want to make sure they're laminar flow.

The Rabbit (Roger) brings up a good point. You're moving a lot of air.
Havn't been around for a while so I don't know what all the buzz has been, but a commercial HEPA filter on it's side in a large plastic tub on it's side produces a clean air environment for transfers, agar work, etc.

Yeah, once you get a laminar flow hood down, you don't need a glove box any more. I'm saving my pennies now, and soon, I will be rid of that annoyance known as a glove box. I'm thinking about burning it.

Very nicely done and you will love the large size for working. Prefilter is a must without a doubt and will increase the life/efficiency of your HEPAs four fold. GB's still have there place believe me so you guys don't be so quick to chuck them! Example, making spore syringes, taking prints and keeping them clean to name a couple. GL guys And again Very nice job!!!

also, gloveboxes are still used for transfering mycelium from a contaminated agar plate, the high velocity of a hood will just blow coontam spores all over your exposed clean media.
