Destillate water?

Hey!

I just wondering, i cooked the water a couple of minutes and then used it for my grow box, its that an good way to do it? :confused:

petroleum distilates??? bad very bad. Distilled water, boiling doesnt make distilled water. Boiled water good or bad? Shouldnt be a problem. I noticed in my 2 different argaricus kits one calls for spring or filtered water and say do not use distilled water. The other calls for any water. Distilled water has nothing in it, just water, no minerals. I would think spring water would be best and chlorinated tap water being the worst but both of my kits say tap is okay. Weird.
AS for boiled water. Its cool. All boiling does is removes the chlorine

Are you talking about the water in a Poor man's pod? The water used in your humidity dome? If so I guess boiling would help kill any bacteria in the water. You could also used distilled water.

I just used tap water then poured in a bottle of Hydrogen Peroxide and let it sit for a couple hours. Then I stuck the substrate in the pod.

It all depends on your water. I've had less than desirable results from using water that was either too hard, or city water , which had too many additives.
Letting water stand overnight will dramatically reduce/eliminate chlorine levels, but if you're on a well, you can run into mineral problems or leftovers from the softening system that can wreak havoc on growth.
Plus, distilled water is cheap....like, 70 cents on a refillable gallon, less for larger containers here.

If you're worried, get one of those big ol 5 gallon containers and go spend 4 bucks to fill it up. Should last ya a while. :smile:

Phew..

I read that you must use distilled water and i just choked :tongue:

Because i just thought boiled=removes bacteria and chlorine so that would be good for the mushies:) thanks for replaying!

I'm gonna post some pics later to show my first growht :grin:

I took the water from the tap and boiled it, poored it around the grow box and sprayed some on the box, just as the manual said!

Shouldn?t that work?
