Gore-Tex Ventilation

Right now I working on building a fully automated, portable grow chamber. I have everything worked out except ventilation. My chamber is made out of an old Styrofoam cooler. I want to cut a hole in the side of the cooler and mount a computer fan powered by a 12v battery. I have a timer set up so it should go on for 30 min every night. I?m using perlite humidification so I am weary of pumping all the humid air out of the chamber. Would it be possible to use some spare Gore-Tex I have to prevent the water in the air from passing through? I was planning on covering the fan?s intake with the gore-tex, and having it blow out of the chamber. There is a one-inch hole on the opposite side of the cooler it can draw air through, which I would also cover. Would this method prevent the humidity from dropping when the fan came on?

the problem is because of my living conditions i am forced to grow it in a attic with no power. Also going upstairs to spray multiple times everyday would be bad. Thus, perlite.
