Something I've noticed after 6 mushroom trips, 5 on an eight of cubes, my first on a half eighth, and 2 daytime and 4 nighttime, is that, for me, day time trips have been much more enjoyable. My two daytime trips are the only trips I've had, with the exception of the 1/2 eighth, the only times I've never gotten a creepy vibe or sense of bleakness at some point during the trip. While none of my trips have been "bad trips," the daytime ones were definately free from the creepy feeling, and taught me just as much, if not more.
Anyone else noticed this?

Tripping at night definitely changes the perspective around.
During the day I get the impression it's all fun and games, but come dusk things start to get serious.
For this reason I will almost never dose acid at night, simply because coupled with lack of sleep and an exhausted mindset it can ruin the experience. Mushrooms and whatnot are a different story though.

I like both...Borgface, you have to try acid at night sometime, it's incredible. There's nothing like staring at the stars while dancing with lucy!

Tripping on a summer night during a lightning storm is definantly an incredible experience .
I've never had a heavy trip during the day but I will definantly try it .
Has anyone dosed when they first wake up in the morning ? Or imagine peaking as the sun is rising .

Those orange street lights can look pretty creepy at night while you're trippin. especially if you have ugly trees in your neighborhood.
I prefer daytime, but if i ever get the chance to see a thunderstorm at night, then i'd be all about that. heh.

the sky seems much more colorful at night. beutiful purples i just love. with some clouds at night its real nice. basically thats the main appeal to me in considering night vs. day. also the stars like dark star said. funny how i have agreed with everything ive read by dark star so far, lol.

I find mushroom visions really come out in the dark.
During the day is great, but in my experience the darkness is a much better substrate for the visions to grow on.

Yeah, this is totally down to personal preference. It's also probably related to how you feel walking around during the day/night.
I like walking at night, but I usually feel a little insecure, probably due to "night = danger" being repeatedly fed to me as a child. Thanks to this, the few times I've tripped at night, that feeling has been magnified and I've felt very anxious and began to see unpleasant things. (probably similar to your creepy vibe, ferago2) I love walking during the day, so it makes sense I'd prefer it ... plus I feel perfectly safe.
So generally it will just be a magnification of what you like and feel when sober.

I have more fun on day trips. I can get out into nature and enjoy the forrest and what not. Durning night trip I have more intense visuals and I always enjoy taking a walk durning a warm summer night under the stars.

ive done both a ton
i really like night trips more though
especially with acid
usually the sun comes up as im comin down, and i feel reborn as a new day is being born
