Casing growth
    #3710114 - 01/31/05 08:34 PM (19 years, 1 month ago)

I've had a casing sitting in a tank full of perlite for 10 days. Growth has been consistant for all but the last 3 days. In these days growth has stopped and seemed to almost revert.

After a few rounds of patching it was put into the grow chamber with a semi-even amount of fungus just showing through. The fungal shoots (for lack of the proper term) that shot up were fuzzy and full. Now they are not. Almost matted looking. The area does not seem to be suffering from overlay. There are equal amounts of casing and fungus showing; the shoots just aren't as full as they once were.

I've searched the posts with little success. It might be pre-pinning formation (or lack there of) or a host of other things.

Casing sits on perlite with an air hose coming in. Temp is between 65-70's. Sparyed once a week.

Thank you for any input.

Those shoots stop growing on my casings when it is getting ready to fruit as well, and they take on the same appearance you described. The mycelium network basically halts while the primordia is forming pins-what you have sounds healthy.

Any way you can raise the temps a bit? 75 is ideal range for fruiting, your temps are ok but expect to wait longer.

Also, once a week is all that you're misting? Make sure your casing layer is "near saturation", you may want to increase that misting to once a day.
