Popcorn: so far, so good!

Last Thursday I did my first set of popcorn jars, and today they are looking amazing =) Nice clean and strong mycelleum growth throughout the jar already. I have to say it was 10x easier than the PF tek, and the growth is already looking better than half pint jars in a couple of weeks. This was with a spore injection - I can't wait to see how fast a malt solution is going to be =)

I have been doing casings very succesfully for about six months, but always thought PF was a pain in the ass.. Popcorn was easier to prepare, and much faster. The risk for contams seems far less.

Do popcorn! Do it now!

Popcorn is garbage for growing on...it's better used for spawn to poo or straw. Dont wast your time growing on popcorn, you'll be disappointed!!!

Anno would probably disagree with you getting popcorn results like this:

I only speak from my own experience and the majority of others. ANd judging from the depth of those trays those are some small fruits compared to what can be achieved thru other substrates. But if Anno gets good results then so be it. I think you will find it to be the exception rather than the norm.

I didnt say it was optimal...but calling it garbage....I think more would disagree with you then you think..

BTW...I use rye/WBS/verm combo myself...popcorn has never appealed to me. I still wouldnt call it garbage from some fruits I've seen from it.
