Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is a good one, and so is Lord of the Rings. Some of the Cheech and Chong movies, like Nice Dreams, are also pretty cool and mellow to watch while packing a bowl or coming down on shrooms. I never like spending the trip watching a movie though, usually the come-up or the come-down are the best times to watch a movie to mellow out

yeah, this is my second time to shroom and im gonna be doing it alone, once again, bc nobody can get any shrooms down here. i was gonna just turn on a movie after i eat em and then when i start to peak, go outside....is it worth eating the shrooms by myself or should i save them for a month or so when poeple can get more...?

just trip by yourself, I find that most people i've tripped with we're worth tripping with and usually ended up just annoying me and not allowing me to have the best time possible.

ok, well i just wanna assure that i have a good time, my first time was last sunday night and i had a good time, but it was kinda wasted bc i took a bar and ate right before i took the shrooms....i only had very minor visuals and i dont remember it bc of the bar that well..

i think I Robot would be an interesting movie to watch.. WATCH, not LISTEN to. i think movies are more then acceptable if they are there for the visual aspect, and not actually watching the movie. I like to turn on some movies and then turn off the volume, and play music over the movie. just much better that way.
if do want to watch a movie on shrooms here are some of my suggestions.

Meet the Feebles (like the Muppet's on crack)
I Robot is a good movie, but i think requires too much attention.
South park The Movie
Any South park.
What Dreams May Come (kind of a sad movie)
The Simpson's
any episodes of Aqua Teen Hunger Force
you may find Sponge Bob funny on shrooms.
Mario Brothers (yes the cheesy movie)
Bad Taste
Dead Alive
Army of Darkness series.
..... there are a few.. whatever amuses you sober should be okay tripping. I just wouldn't watch something gory and death ridden. that's just me though.

There was a rather new Western out. The entire movie was based off a group a mercenaries going after the tea of a Indian trip to become all powerful. Can't think of the title, but there were numerous scenes that were trippy (was there trip within the trip).

Dude, dont waste your fucking trip sitting around watching a movie. Take a walkman and stare at the clouds, or trees in ur yard. sit outside and listen to some good music. Try the shins, or some classic rock.

Man don't waste shrooms on watching movies. They have so much to offer just by being out in nature.

But, if your gunna watch movies anyways watch fear and loathing in las vegas or the beatles yellow submarine.

peace

Any film by Luis Bunuel...his films all have the structure of a dream, so they probably would make complete sense to a tripper. Python's "The Meaning of Life" would be another one.

Sometime after you sober up, check out Roger Corman's "The Trip" with Peter Fonda and Bruce Dern. That film comes about as close as anything I've seen to replicating the experience...

Watching the right movies on mushrooms is not a waste. I love nature, and I love movies. If you know a beautiful location in nature, then knock yourself out. If you are aware of an excellent movie for tripping, then watch it. Two of my best experiences consisted of one time during a rockclimbing expedition to hell and gone on a hill overlooking a magnificent forested valley. The other one was watching 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Fear and Loathing... no. I like the film, but a couple of friends and I watched it on shrooms and it just seemed to make the experience more difficult. I'd rather have been doing virtually anything else at the time.

Jacob's Ladder? Again, no. It's one of my favorite films, but I can only imagine it launching me into despair and negativity while tripping.

Altered States is only worth seeing for the trip sequences IMO. They might look cool if you're on a voyage of your own, but you'd probably want to find a way to watch them without having to endure the rest of the movie.

Being John Malkovich was a feel-bad movie in which I hated every character. Well acted, well made and original. I appreciated it, but never liked it. Just because it's "trippy" doesn't mean it's worth seeing while tripping.

Meanwhile, I love The Wall under any circumstances. Seems to be quite a bit of negativity involved with it, so I can't quite explain what the difference is for me.

Cronenberg films would be a hoot, especially Existenz (sp?) -- although I wouldn't take anyone on a first date to "Dead Ringers" -- especially "under the influence."

I saw part of a Sam Neil movie called "In the Mouth of Madness" or something to that effect that looked pretty good. Of course, Tim Burton's "Mars Attacks" is a real hoot!!! Kubrick: Dr. Strangelove and Lolita.

i agree that taking a walk is way better, but sometimes weather doesn't allow it. in that case, may i recommend fritz the cat? even if you're sober when you watch the movie, you'll feel like you're tripping by the end. its a 60s era acid cartoon about a cat in nyu who becomes counter-cultural. seriously trippy movie. colors totally screw with you the whole time (intentionally). otherwise if the weather's nice, may i recommend that you and a buddy make a copy of the "into the wall" CD by pink floyd, drop em into some cd walkmans, turn em on at the same time and walk through a park or some woods?
