The Information War 1

Language > Written Word > the Printing Press > the Industrial Revolution > the Information Superhighway
When information IS power, the informed are feared.
In this war, the powers that be want you to think dogmacide is covered under the Geneva Convention. But it's not. So spray it everywhere on everyone. Just know that they won't let you become a martyr. No, they'll let you write a best-seller, make millions, and become dependent on whatever hedonistic allowances your new lifestyle will provide. Now you're "The Man" ... asshole.

It is nice to see you around, man.
You forgot to mention how, often, power prevents information. I'm sure that fits in there somewhere.
Peace.

It isn't, but there are those with influence that are trying to make it that way...
Anyways, ja, knowledge is power. Let us all discuss.
Peace.

What keeps people from gaining power is the fact that most inormation we find is false. The world is full of tricks and the world is full of liars.

Do you think that certain "meme's" are despised, is that applicable in this situation?

Do I think that certain memes are despised? I'm not sure what you're trying to get at exactly. Can you clarify your question?

That certain ideas that are inherenet or at least expressed within individuals and or cultures, or even coroporations, are being attacked on the television by other people and various organizations with new messages and meanings... IM not trying to say there is meaning in television in itself per se, more like what people put into television... and how that is kind of a reflection of the world in a sense. Isnt it the ideas of different people that are really attacked on television, maybe even the internet too. Who has the best set of skills/services/abilities? Each one trying to sell you something new, but for their own reasons? I hope this makes more sense, im trying to be on topic...

Sclorch! how ya been? sounds like ya need to lay off the William Gibson Seriously conquest by assimilation has become the battle for individuality. With a Borg-like intensity this culture assimilates and integrates it's "outsiders" with brutal efficiency. Too right make your million and become the "Man" WR

A revolutionary is nothing without success of some sort. It's like the idea that the difference between the eccentric and the weird is wealth. So what is a revolutionary who loses every battle called? A nutcase?

The information war is fought between the world's governments, coorporations, religions, and any group or individual holding strong beliefs....any each and every one of YOU; the weapons are more powerful than ever, desguised as truths and delivered subliminaly; the stakes are higher than ever?people's beliefs, possessions, loyalties, minds. Take a stand or be an unknowing victim.

Right or wrong usually a martyr, which may or may not make them nutcases.

I think the first three words you said here carry the weight of the thought. How many "revolutions" have come and gone and nothing really changes but the shirt. And I have known some VERY wierd wealthy people and eccentric poor(perhaps my own perspective,eh?) It does not change that this culture assimilates it's counterculture and integrates it into mainstream or destroys it,net same result. Sclorch you shit! makin' me think up this shit at 6:00am. I was a bit concerned about you but I think I see the old Sclorch working the crowd WR

Youve touched on this before, and i have talked with lengths about it with my brother. The integration of the extremes is what allows marketing companies to keep running, what else do they have to do but make new ideas by taking old stuff and making it look like something different? Its called exploitation. But im sure only the weak fall, information is information... making yourself something bigger than you are is only asking for a primetime documentary, throwing yourself into a world of worthlessness. But if your ideas are substantial, what can they really take away? They only sell the face, not its contents... or do they?
