Is it alright to do that? Theres a little bit of myc. growing on the casing layer. Im just really impatien and I want these shrooms for new years.

Man if you're at the point of mycelia poking through your casing layer right now then don't worry about birthing it early. Patch it and let it do its thing and you'll be fine by new years. But to answer your question, yeah its ok i guess, I've heard a few people say they just case and put directly into fruiting chamber but probably isn't desireable for as good of a pinset. I say patch it, you've got 3 weeks.

ok....if u have an uneven mycelium growing...then u patch to let the rest catch up, you want lots of mycelium to be breaking through the casing But not too much bc u dont want overlay, mushrooms grow where the myc. is, so the more the merryier But, sometimes too much hurts more than helps, does that anwser ur Q or do u have anymore?

if there is more myc. growing in patches, and nothing in other areas, you put a very thin layer of casing over the myc. to let the rest catch up. it improves an even pinset.
