Hiking Pictures of our beautifull little island
    #3462327 - 12/07/04 10:43 PM (19 years, 3 months ago)

Vancouver Island BC.  this years pics, far from all but bandwidth is always a pain.  had to shrink as is :frown:

anyway i cant post pics directly from angelfire but here is the links to the different pic galleries.

Wild Deer Creek, one of my fav places by home.
http://www.angelfire.com/bc3/hiking/wd.html

Shawnigan-My home.
http://www.angelfire.com/bc3/hiking/shawn.html

Forbidden Plateau-By Mt Washington (ski resort) and comox/courteney.
http://www.angelfire.com/bc3/hiking/forbiden.html

oliphant lake, logged out shit hole by the highway that provides many drunks endless entertainment.
http://www.angelfire.com/bc3/hiking/oliph.html

Bamberton.  This was a concrete plant back turn of the century.  the mostly Chinese workers lived over in tod inlet area (people not aware of the area probably know what Butchart Gardens is....right there) and ferried across to the plant.  this is a fucking acid trip in its self.  too bad the most of the pics didn't turn out.  picture huge stalagmites (sp? limestone things) off the buildings, river beds of whack ass bubbly pool like limestone and hardened concrete dust on everything!  its very very eary.
http://www.angelfire.com/bc3/ca2/bamberton.html

main page.  not many pics up but what is there filled my limit.  anyway gives a tiny minuscule glimpse of what its like in this corner of bc.
http://www.angelfire.com/bc3/hiking/

dunno maybe this should be in travel?  move if it doesnt fit here

nope not mine   my friends nephew.  that kid is amazing, he stayed with us hiking about 10k a day without stopping.  5 years old, never seen such a little bushwhacker

i hope my niece is half the hiker as this kid!

your gonna have to come up, endless hiking.  trails, boardwalks, slopes, rocks, caves whatever tehres years worth of hiking to do in each category.  but as i remember it montana had some pretty stellar rapids and pine forests.  damn that place is cool!  and glacier national park.....

You are correct about MT my man, it's got some beautiful scenery. The bob marshall wilderness is great, and it's not buried under a foot of snow like glacier is right now. I still want to get over to Washington, maybe even B.C, sometime in January, how's the hiking around then?

cold   if we hook up down tehre i can drive ya up here show you around.  its not "cold" like you may think...its wet cold.  but its fine really, jsut bring some fleece and wet skins and your set.  we stayed at seeley (sp?) lake in montana i gues sits sorta middle/west?  went on some neat river that had a ton of little water snakes of some form.  ive been wanting to go back to that exact spot for that very reason.

Britannia Beach mine is pretty neat...ive never gone snooping around it though.  forget how much tours are, but definatly one day!  coupel more paychecks and i got a camara again...ill post more early next year as i quite enjoy getting stoned there.  paranoid zombie rush typa thing goes on there.

im not up nanaimo way very often...i always statrt going there and get side tracked and end up out cowichan lake or carmanah...but i liek teh hills there.  went chanterelle picking tehre this year once.  love that little petroglyph park.  such a weird place for it to be, snuggled amongst the city.

I live about 20 minutes or so from Seely Lake, that's quite an area. I haven't done as much hiking as I'd like to, you probably know that place better than me. But I've driven by it on the way to Glacier multiple times
That's the first place I want to go camping this spring, that and the Bitteroot, just south of here.  I'm new to the area, so theres a lot of places to hit!

Man, I haven't been to Vancouver Island since I was like 5 years old. All I remember is trees, a beach, driftwood, coldwater and lots of little jellyfish on the shore. Actually, I haven't really been to Vancouver in a few years either. Last time I went to BC was the eastern side (Okanagon)probobly 5 or six years ago.
