Mycobag Cakes in Poor Man's Pod?
    #3419965 - 11/28/04 05:30 PM (19 years, 3 months ago)

Would a Mycobag cake fruit well in a Poor Man's Pod, ie just take the cake out of the bag and put it inside the Pod? Would this work better and faster than simply growing in the bag? Thanks

This really should be posted in cultivation, but to answer your question (so when it gets moved it will be there too):

Yes, removing a colonized substrate block from the MycoBag and placing it into a fruiting terrarium (like the Poor Man's Pod) will allow it to grow in a better environment. The MycoBag concept was designed without the need to do this, but you will see increased yeilds from your Oyster Mushrooms when you place the fruiting block unrestrained in a terrium where you can frequently exchange air and maintain humidity.

doing a crumble and case can also increase yeilds if you know what you're doing.
