where are some freaky looking mushies from a grow that was thought to be dead.

the grow was started in october sometime with 12 Aussie PF jars. but due to being sick and not keeping up with it a lot of jars were just tossed [for some reason] three were fully colonized after a month so those were birthed. and they had been in the fruiting chamber for 10 days before showing pins.  the person wasn't expecting anything beacuse of the conditionns.. woot!

the cake fell over cause it was so heavy. all the other pins are under neath.


and here it is from the other side.



these cakes were left in a tub w/ perlite and covered with saram wrap. the temp was 72. and the lighting was when ever the lamp was on .

i though it was going to weight more until i saw that i was completely hollow inside! :eek:

wierd... after growing shrooms for a while, you start to see lots of natures little fuck ups. its quite neat

I've seen that before but in a much worse case, the guy had alot more and lots of people though it was lighting bc they grew so crazy like but hey said the only light came from the top. He took a bunch of pics and never ate them, lol, wasnt worth the runs or stomach ache or getting sick, he just put em outside someone and hoped theyd grow out somewhere, they were prob. they weirdest and most beautiful mushrooms i've ever seen, good shit :thumbup: :beer:

wait... you can get sick from eating mutant ones. i didn't think so. those were just picked and ummmm.. kinda sort consumed.

i was going to ask about if aussies tended to be hollow but upon 'looking at' some other ones they seem pretty solid....

If it opens you should try to take a spore print. I would personally like to a get a bunch of shrooms to look like that but the print idea probaly won't work.

In my experience they dont make you sick. Its kinda like eating aborts. They're most commonly caused by lysol. But genetics can play a role in this. I suppose if they are cause by a mold of some sort it could be dangerous. But Ive never had a problem with one from a healthy cake.
