Fly Agaric: From Caps to Caps **UPDATED** new .gif presentation !

Today a friend and I have been hunting for Fly Agaric. (Amanita muscaria) Fly Agarics are very large, easily spotted and if you got your shit together you can positively ID them with certainty. We chose to hunt for Fly Agaric because of the lateness in the season(november in Holland) and because we are very interested in the Fly Agaric's unique effects. We chose a forest that had to yield jackpot: It was full of birch, pines and oak trees, and we made our trip on a stretch of rainy days, the forest was damp and moist. Despite the impossible lateness of our hunt and the unscouted forest we found a few Fly Agarics. Please feast your eyes on this one, a rabbit or squirrel) has gnawed at it so we left it, but you gotta love it's unique, distinctive look in its habitat! Look at that beauty! That rabbit would've likely rolled over the forest floor engulfed by a rabbit-OBE because Ibotenic acid and especially Muscimol tend to be quite potent for a mammal's brain! Poor beastie! After three hours of hunting we returned with a paper bag of culinary mushrooms for sautee'd soup and Enteogenically speaking we had gotten three good-sized Fly Agarics weighing a little over 160 grams total. After very rigorous cleaning and a deliberate scrape we made it balance out to a nice rounded 150gr fresh. We then proceeded from Caps to Caps as you'll see right here! The digicam and compression did not do the magnificent colors justice. UPDATE: I made this brand new .gif presentation to replace the bland former one. Feel free to download and use it online in proper context, I hereby waive copyright and any and all responsibility legal or otherwise. Go ahead and take it! Starting point is 150 grams of cleaned, fresh Amanita muscaria. We cut them up with a sharp kitchen knife and then used an electric spaceheater (fan) to sufficiently dry it at 60'C that no juices would be spilled. Then we finished it with a 60'C oven left slightly ajar. We used this heat to aid the decarboxylation of Ibotenic acid into the far more potent Muscimol, as well as to keep them from spoiling by poor drying. After that we pulverized and homogenized the cracker-dry mushrooms in an electric coffee grinder and then encapsulated the powder. The ratio we ended up with is: 150gr Fly Agaric ---> 20 capsules of 7.5gr/capsule equiv. Interesting note: We found a collapsed Fly Agaric in the forest and decided to help mother nature thus: the Fly Agaric was hit by a horse's hoove and we only had half a cap of 3 inch across. We tore it apart and each took a quarter in our hand, crushed it (lots of juice: it was very moist weather) and threw small bits around over the course of 5 minutes hunting. We were surprised that juice-to-skin contact with that little Fly Agaric actually produced a psychotropic effect. We were clearly pretty stimulated and euphoric, a bit inco?rdinated and in a slightly desoriented state. On the downside there was a tiny nausea in both of us. Sitting still in darkness with eyes closed gave faint but definite dreamlike imagery. This subtle psychotropic effect lasted a whopping six hours. It was very clear we were under the influence of a tiny amount of a vastly Entheogenic compound. We already know now that Amanita muscaria is totally different but right up there with Psilocybin and LSD where it comes to Entheogenicity. All in all it's very promising for the possible potency of our capsules. When time comes we are going to ingest one each, the equivalent of 7.5gr fresh Amanita muscaria. By NO means are we looking to go all the way with the Fly Agaric. We are looking for a subtle grace that outclasses low-dose MDMA but in intensity falls way short of a full dose of Psilocybian mushrooms. We notice MDMA easily goes around but in some ways does not deliver. A fully active dose of mushrooms on the other hand requires way too much commitment to plan on short notice. Fly Agaric, with it's GABA-A Agonist properties, 5-10 hour duration and nausea-->stimulation-->sedation-->entheogenesis curve seems just the ticket for a short-notice Session where inner work can be done more freely then on MDMA. We already felt it's Entheogenic nature most likely surpasses that of MDMA. Now it's just a question of dose and bodyload to find our levels :-) .

Thanks for posting that, I was completely absorbed while reading it. I hope the capsules deliver the dosage you're looking for. I thought your comments on rabbits were interesting too, I've seen loads of nibbled Fly Agaric caps while wandering through the woods, and always wonder what the effects on the rabbit might have been . I thought it was really well written too, pretty amazing as I presume you are Dutch, and English isn't your first language!

I've been interested in a. muscaria for a long time, since before I read bout ps. shrooms, I was reading online bout the use and history of this...I dont think we have one, but I really believe we should have fly agaric thread on the hunting thread page, so people that have knowledge like phishhead and others can share their experiences, and others can explore...although the chances someone could take too much of this and hurt/kill themselves is possible, and too many idiots Ive noticed come to this site that dont even understand what a gram is. So maybe not, i dunno, i thought I'd throw the thought out there..Ive got some cap skins drying right now actually
I've heard that 5-15grams(dried) of this is safe for a trip, although it is possible for it to be bad, if anyone wants to experiment...but i wont be held responsible for any idiocy, because I myself have not tried this and I am only providing what I've read thru my self research. I also know that the skins have the most concentrated of the ibo acid and musc, but I do not know how much more then the rest of the mushroom.
Another side note that I just remembered that isn't direcly related, but after a muscaria foray one day, I remember leaving one cap in my garage for 3 days..w/o thinking bout it. When I found it, it had fully bloomed the cap and had grown almost 2x the size. Seems these carry a lot of nutrients/water inside their bulbs? anyone have a more scientific approach to this =\
