Have you or anybody else you know moved away in an attempt to start over? Did it work? Where did you or your friend go to? What were the pros and cons of doing it?

I hope so, its my plan right now Moving to Alaska or BC within the next 3-5 years. The key is to have a job lined up as soon as you get there and a down payment on a place to stay. It seems to be a lot easier to get jobs in Canada than in the US (big surprise )

Yes, it doe's (or can) work out.
I have learnt in my 32 years here, that you can go to almost anywhere on this planet and start again. It can take time to settle, and adjust, but I truely belive it can be done by anyone.
good luck if you decide its your path, i quite enjoy it myself. so now find it hard to settle

Flagg (love the name, obviously a king fan)- I moved away when I was 19 to get away from a bad drug habit (coke) and some other personal problems. It helped, but you have to want to make the change, whatever change it is that you desire. No matter where you go you are going to be able to find the same things that you are trying to get away from. You have to make a conscious effort to make the change in the new location. Good luck to you!

It works in a sense, If you have it in your mind already that you want change, then it will work. It you just move to move and think things will be different, then nope.

Yup. I moved away from my hometown in cali to arizona to get away from the bullshit, the addictions, bad people, and a cycle that sucks people dry.
It can be a bitch to start new somewhere, but you adjust and it works as long as you get past the initial year or two of homesickness.

If you really want it to work, moving away will make it easier to start all over. As long as you maintain focus on the task at hand rather than getting caught up in your immediate surroundings. I just moved, pretty much in the same boat. Good Luck.

I moved from AZ about 4 months ago to Il. I left to get away from a messy life. Droogs, bad relationships, bad people and just everything. As soon as I came here, things started to change for the better. I wanted my life to change, so I made things happen. New place, new people and a new job. I still miss AZ but I won't ever go back. My new beginning with a old f**ked life is better than I ever could have expected. Change can be very good
