well it's been a while since franks nursery and crafts has declared bankruptcy, so I made a trip up there finally hoping on some good deals. Most of the shit was picked through, but i did happen to get 4 HUGE bales (1.5 cubic feet each) of spagnum peat moss for $1.50 each. Also picked up a few other deals which i was looking for (minute timer).

you should try asking if they'll order you some when they're out of stock
as a last resort, order it off the internet, shipping is expensive because of the volume

Same here. It is too bad they are going under. Their bulk size bags of vermiculite is primo stuff compared to what you find at other stores, and way cheaper too. I love the consistancy of it, it doesn't vary in size like the "other" brands do...

I prefer the "pea" sized vermiculite for casing mix, rather that the 1"x1" square chunks I have came across with other brands. Sometimes you get a good batch, but more often than not it is either too large, or dust...

So sad...

around my area the only I've seen available is a fine grade...

for those of you that cant find it at all its it carried by Myco Supply,
if you need larger quantities it can be found online at a few of the
horticultural supply companies.
