Microscopic Myc?
    #3308557 - 11/02/04 09:55 AM (19 years, 4 months ago)

I just inoculated 14 jars of Cambo using a Karo liquid culture. I ended up making about 3- 10ml syringes. Only one of the syringes that I made had visible mycelium in it. The other two looked completely clear although there was definitely a bunch of mycelium in the liquid culture jar. My question is, was some of the other mycelium in the other jars microscopic? If not, then can I assume that the 8 or so jars inoculated with the two non-visible mycelium syringes won't colonize at all? THANKS.

I believe that if there were even a single hyphal cell, you could consider the jars inoculated. It might just take a little longer.

A single hyphae is most certainly microscopic.

Did you break up the myc by sucking the blobs up/spitting them back out before you loaded the syringes for the final time?
