Casing cobweb contam?
    #3252972 - 10/19/04 07:15 PM (19 years, 5 months ago)

Hello all.
Just tried my first casing using cakes that had been birthed for about 3 days...cakes are verm/brf and casing is verm. Two days after making the casing, some fuzzy shit appeared on the top of the casing. I have no digital camera, but I found a pic of exactly what this looks like:

Is this the famous cobweb mold? And if so, should the casings be tossed? There are 2.
Thanks for the help!

If its EXACTLY like that, thats mold. Aerial mycelium looks similar, but more ropey, more white and the strands aren't as long. The pics could be confusing as to what its showing if you just stumbled across those pics on the board. If you stumbled onto those pics on your computer 9or something like that) then I'm sure you know how similar the stuff is in the pics to what you got.. Anyways..hope its not what you got but I here peroxide and salt can combat cobweb. Look around or post for more info on exactly how to do it.
