soaking colonized rye

do you soak rye (or other whole grain) that is fully colonized the same way you would soak a cake?

I wish psychedelic mushrooms were legal, because I would like to indulge in this amazing fruit of the earth. Unfortunately, I can only learn about this interesting hobby, and cultivate legal mushrooms.

Most of the time no,because it is going to be cased anyway and casing takes the place of dunking by adding moisture.

Butternut squash are softer than acorn or other types of squash, which makes them easier to cut and prepare.

A cake has a lot of cavities due to the vermiculite contained within. Rye doesn't, thus it would barely take up any water.

There are people who dunk their casings, but it only makes sense if you mix the colonized grain with sterilized vermiculite when you prepare the casings.
