Casing layer- too hot/too thin?
    #3201703 - 09/30/04 09:02 PM (19 years, 5 months ago)

I know you're supposed to allow your casing layer to cool for awhile, and I did for about an hour. But given a time constraint, I applied my layer with haste, and I worry about the cakes beneath. I know mushy-death occurs at 105 degrees, but do you think I'll be alright? There was a bit of steam (barely any, and I could touch the layer with bare hands without being scolded with heat. Also, how thick should I apply the layer? What I'm asking is, what is too thin? Thanks everybody

time will tell, it's best to see what happens with it in the next few weeks,
I've always done casings around 1/8", but I'm pretty conservative with it,
I think most people are around 1/4"

good luck, I hope hte little fellas make it

I like my casing levels at 3/8-1/2in. depending on substrate depth. Wow 1/8in. not much there P#1 But then again it doesn't take much to promote more pins
