I am preparing to use the PF tek but add some rye berries to the mix. Has anyone tried this ? If so, what kind of results did you get? I am just curious what this will do, if someone knows, say like its a crap idea please tell me why.
Thank you,

if you do i would consider pressure cooking instead of simply boiling. make sure they are "organic" (no preservatives) i would grind them.. the advantage of using rye berries is the ability to shake them around in the jar to spread the fungus to uncolonized berries allowing the jar to finish faster, BUT when using the pf tek you cant shake so its my opinion that this addition would do nothing but invite contaminants....

DONT take a trip to the spore lab...
