Karo + Nutritional yeast

Okay, so I have a batch of karo jars with a 1/4 tsp of nutritional yeast added (read that it speeds growth). I left the jars in the dark for a couple of days and I checked them today. The GT jar had odd looking growth that look like transparent fish flakes floating around (best description I can make). Is this mycelium? Or is it a contam? I know it's not undissolved nutritional yeast flakes because it wasn't there before. Anyone have any info to share about karo + nutritional yeast? Thanks!
