Extrovert or Introvert?
    #3184496 - 09/26/04 11:11 PM (19 years, 5 months ago)

On another thread in this forum, Skorpivo said this:

Quote:

I theorize that most of the Shroomery's S&P Philosophers are introverts.

Introverts are usually known for their deeply analytical and philisophical thinking/behaviors/tendencies, for richness of experience rather than muchness, like our extroverted counterparts.

In general, Extroverts are energized by the outside world (people and things), while Introverts are energized by being alone with their internal thoughts.

For those of you who aren't sure which you are, visit this website for futher definitions.

I am an extrovert. I NEED to be outside, interacting with people. If I am stuck in the office, I will go crazy.

Just for fun, which are you, and why do you think so?
Are you an Extrovert or Introvert?
You may choose only one

If I were to be judged by others, I'm certain they'd say I was an introvert, that is because I am often quiet. Though, thats only half the truth. Most of the time there isnt much to really say. I'm silent unless I feel I have reason to talk. I'm quite comfortable in the presence of others or when alone, though I often find myself thirsting for more satisfying conversation topics (something besides sex, gossip, etc...) from other people.

Nope.  Ain't sending it to the scrapheap, no matter how much you beg, plead, or cajole.

If you are seriously an ambivert, why so?

Okay, forget editing. But listen you guys. You have to be more of one than the other, for the purposes of this poll. So if you are in-between, just pick the one that best suits you. K?

How do you rate the Swam? (based on my posts on the boards, not our weekend in Acapulco)

I would say you were an introvert.

Keep in mind that an introvert is someone who likes to go out, but needs to go back to a place of being alone to re-energize.

An extrovert likes to be alone at times, but needs to be out with people in order to be re-energized.

And what a weekend that was!!!

I don't know yet about you. Let me think. Hmmm.

I think that you are an introvert. First tell me whether you are or not, and then I will tell you how I came to that conclusion.

I don;t understand, are you trying to say one way is 'worse' then the other? why would it matter what type of person you are? and how can any one person classify themselves as a category when people constantly change

I am a homebody for the most part, but definitely not shy or passive. So according to your def, that would make me an "innie".

Ah, yes - those erotic moonlit nights on the white sands drinking Margueritas...

No, neither way is worse than the other. Both ways of being just "are".

The nice thing about knowing which is it you are is that when you are at a party, and you are an introvert, and you are starting to get a head ache, you will understand why you want to leave, even though you are probably having a good time.

Or, if you are an introvert, and you married an extrovert, you will understand why she wants to go to the part of the beach where there are a lot of people, while you want to go to the part of the beach that is empty.

This thread is simply about knowledge of one's self.  Neither is good or bad.  Neither is better than the other.  It's all about understanding one's self.

Like me!  I am a major extrovert!  I am the biggest extrovert you will ever meet!

Oh, first, let me clear up a misconception.  The misconception is that extroverts are outgoing, and introverts are shy.  haha!!  WRONG!!

I was married to an introvert, and he was very outgoing.  But, after being around people for a while, he needed to go home and re-energize.  Me, as an extrovert, I become more energetic the longer I am around people.  I am a little shy at times ( my gf is laughing, cuz I'm don't appear shy at all), but I become more energetic around people.  When I am alone, I can become somewhat depressed.

Anyways, the more people, the better, imo.  I can talk to the most boring person in the world and be happy about it.  If it walks and talks and breathes, bring it on!!!

I wasn't sure, but I'm not surprised that you're an "innie".

If we had waited, I wonder if people would have bet that you're an "outie".

There are misconceptions about extroverts and introverts.
