another LBM id please

Dammit this is discouraging. I have found bushels of mushrooms but none of THOSE mushrooms. I think by the time I find one I may be more interested in mushrooms to make pickles to give my grandkids. Anyway, I bought a digital camera today, and you see the results in this photo. What do you figure this is?
Dark brown cap. Not viscous. Largest cap was about 2 cm across.
Brown gills. Close. Lightly attached.
Spores, brown or yellow brown. I have not come across any spores in my short hunting experience yet that had a yellow tinge to them.
Growing on woodchips in a flower bed watered by an old guy with a hose.
Stalk about 3 mils diameter and about 5 cm high. Slightly bulbos toward the base. No annulus. White mold around mycelia.
Thanks!

dunno what they are, I definitely wouldn't eat them though, they kind of resemble Galerinas. Not active or edible and possibly very poisonous. DH

Galerina is a thought, and Psathyrella suggests itself also.
Happy mushrooming!

Thanks for the help. I would consider a galerina a major score, that seems to be the major LBM danger, but I think these are more likely agrocybe arvalis. Which brings me to another question. These spore prints are completely different from another agrocybe that I id'ed thanks to this forum. The other prints are much darker brown, while these are light brown or even purplish. Do mushrooms in the same genus differ in their spore color? Agrocybe semiorbiularis(maybe):
Agrocybe arvalis(maybe):see above Any insights appreciated.

Yes, mushrooms within a genus can vary significantly in spore print color.
That spore print (assuming I'm seeing it correctly on my monitor) would not be from a Galerina. My first inclination would be toward Stropharia, Psathyrella, Hypholoma, or Psilocybe. Of course, it would be important to have more information available before attempting an ID.
Happy mushrooming!

I have 2 computers/monitors and the color looks totally different on the two. On one i see a purplish tone to it, while on the other i only see brown. Could be due to monitor, video card, color settings or brightness/gamma.

Look like either an Agrocybe or a hypholoma to me. They are not a Galerina. thats for sure.
Pretty shrooms but then pretty shrooms could also be deadly shrooms. There are bold mushrooms and then there are old mushroomers.
Good luck Wallace.
Where are you located. Nothing to indicate where you are at in your profile?
