I saw it tonight. Goddamn it was great! The only things that were bad was 1) it made me want to dance in the aisles which might piss off other people at the theatre and 2) it hurt so bad to watch because I just wanted to be on that train! Everyone should see it. But catch it in the theatre because thats part of the awesomeness. Its *almost* like being there

I thought it was going to be a lot more talking and story telling but really they just let the music tell the story. Most of the film was just footage from the concerts which really worked well in this case. Goddamn Bob Weir was a HOTTIE!!!!!!! And there was this one part that showed Janis Joplin and Jerry Garcia jamming on the train. They were both really fucked up...it was hilarious. You all should go see this movie!!

I just got back from seeing this movie and all I can say is wow. The footage captured in this film really shows what these artists were about-- making great music and just having as much fun as possible. The Janis footage was my favorite. Such raw emotion it's unbelievable. And of course the Grateful Dead footage was gold too and The Band footage and others. Sha Na Na was just plain goofy. You could see Bob Weir in the audience with this look on his face like "wtf?" It's only playing in select locations but I urge everyone to see this movie or at least rent it when it comes out on video. It really is up there with the Woodstock movie.
