Verm Casing

OK... I want to do a verm/coco coir casing but the coco coir is VERY slow getting here. First time I had problems with a shroomery sponsor and communication but anyway... I'm going to try to case 2 of my rye jars in just pure verm. Do I really need to steralize it? I mean, I did pf cakes with pure verm, no steralizing, and it worked just fine. Just curious about rye and my chances of contams. Thanks guys!

Do you really need to sterilize it?  perhaps not.  As it takes only a few minutes in the microwave to do it is it worth skipping? perhaps not

I didn't think the microwave was a horribly effective way... but then again, I never did it. I just throw the shit in there? How long? I know I can find it on this site... I have before. But it seemed not worth remembering (as I have a pc) and since you're around answering I figure I'll take advantage   Thanks.

I only put my vermiculite in the microwave for 5 minutes on the "high" setting. It seemed to work for me.
