Yippee.. I found this seasons first Psilocybe Semilanceatas yesterday here in Finland ...here are few pics...
Can anybody say what is this little bug that came out from my shrooms? It is very small.. first it looked like some dirt in the paper but when it moved I realised it was some tiny bug.

Right on. It's not cold or wet enough here in the PNW for them yet. I can't wait for first frost.

Oh shit.. that sucks... it's pretty much the only insect/animal in Finland that can kill you (borrelia/encephalitis) and I had like 5-7 of them inside those shrooms. But I doubt if it is full of blood since they where only inside the shrooms and on the paper... not on my skin.

As much as I know ticks, this is not one. Quite similar though.

Ticks are creepy. I remember I had one behind my ear years ago. It fraked me out.

Yeah I know... normally they don't look like that.. or at least in most of the pictures I have seen caps are more closed. But I think it's a Lib anyway because everything else matches perfectly. Btw the first picture is from the same mushroom.

Definatly looks like semilanceata just like the ones I picked and vegcapped here in scotland - <br> They seem to be very potent this year since one vegicap was enough for a friend of mine to have a pretty intense experience. They also bruised the deepest shade of blue that I have seen here ever, still it is documented that liberty caps can vary by quite a large proportion in potency. As for the bug, if I found it here i'd presume it was a sheep tick, but who knows.

First Semilanceata in Kokkola region of Finland found today. Believe me, I'm thrilled, I've never found liberty caps in Finland before. I live elsewhere in Europe, and have picked thousands, but not in Finland!
Type of area found in - meadow beside my house
Oh yeah I needed to look really hard!

Thanks for reminding me to look out for those ticks.. We have all sorts of them but the one i worry about the most is the deer tick - carrier of lime disease :/
