Have a chance to see Bush speak on Saturday
    #3084841 - 09/02/04 09:42 PM (19 years, 6 months ago)

Supposedly, a friend of mine who is a registered Republican is
getting tickets to see President Bush speak. She said she
would take me(I am a registered Libertarian by the way). I don't
even know if they will let me in, because they are probably going
to do extensive background checks. They will see that I am not
a registered Republican. Of course, I would listen respectfully
to his speech. I have no intention of disrupting things.

I dunno...should I go, if I have the chance?

Will going help you get laid?

To call humans 'rational beings' does injustice to the term, 'rational.'  Humans are capable of rational thought, but it is not their essence.  Humans are animals, beasts with complex brains.  Humans, more often than not, utilize their cerebrum to rationalize what their primal instincts, their preconceived notions, and their emotional desires have presented as goals - humans are rationalizing beings.

Hahaha.  I have the chance to see the head of the federal government
of the most powerful nation on earth, to listen to his views, and to
get an inkling of what kind of man he is, and you are wondering if I
can get laid...

Actually this girl is my best friend.  She is not girlfriend
material.  I am not trying to impress her or anything.

That's pretty gay they you have to be pre approved to see a public leader speak. If that doesn't speak volumes about Herbert Walker Fuckface,I don't know what does.

1) Herbert Walker was Bush 1. Bush 1 hasn't been the prez for almost a dozen years now.

2) Should they just let anyone at all in to see the President of the United States speak? No background checks at all? Yes, I know that from the sounds of it you personally wouldn't mind seeing the current prez assassinated, but we're talking principles here. Pretend it was a Dem president for the sake of argument.

Yeah but they were turning people away in New Mexico that weren't Bush supporters, not security threats, just that they weren't Bush supporters... It's like the RNC, if it's paid for with tax dollars then even hecklers should be allowed in...

Oh yeah,George Walker or whatever the hell. I'm a little drunk,so some of the details are a little off. Score number two for you.

Security a good idea? Of course. Fucking backround checks and pre approvals to see him speak publically. Hell no. Fucking eletist prick. You can even get within a mile to protest a Bush speach.

Kerry doesn't have all this shit (not that I like Kerry all that much),I'm sure more than a few people would like to see him dead. You don't have to be a registered Democrat to see him talk.

They did exactly the same thing at the DNC.

And it's unclear that one need be a registered Republican to hear Bush talk either, as RandalFlagg admits.

I'm not taking about the conventions. They do all kinds of stupid backround checks and selective admitance at many Bush campaign speaches.

Duh... d'ya think it might have something to do with the fact that presidents of the US have been targeted for assassination in the past? Kerry is not president of the US (and hopefully never will be), so comparing security measures for Kerry against those for Bush is apples and oranges.

I would go to see him. If it doesn't make your blood boil to watch him speak then I think it is a great opportunity to witness politics, and George W. Bush firsthand.

Ever hear of Robert Kennedy? Any major political figure, whether president or not,has to watch out for assasination attempts. Bush goes way,way beyond that though. He just tries to keep anyone that doesn't take his drivel as the word of god as far away as possible.

So by that logic, hecklers should be allowed into the White House bedrooms to heckle Bush?
