Cooking my green beans
    #3000409 - 08/13/04 11:28 AM (19 years, 7 months ago)

I'm going to go out and pick the 12 beans that are huge. I am thinking about cooking them in a tiny bit of water on the stove. Anybody have any good recipes? I'm thinking about something with cheese perhaps, I dunno.

mix in a can of cream of mushroom soup and put dried onion on the top of it all and bake till good and hot.

I almost forgot.. toss in your favorite cheese with the beans and soup.

Cook them in vegetable broth (or chicken broth if you're not a veggie), and rings of those tasty purple onions. Serve with Melted butter infused with something like parsley. Or you could make a cheese sauce, since you're appetite is speaking the language of cheese right now.

put some salt in your water before cooking. And only use about 1/2 inch of water. And only steam for about 10 minutes or they'll be yukky. Or they're really good sauteed in olive oil with freshly chopped garlic- or with some vegetable oil mixed with sesame oil, some soy sauce, chopped ginger and garlic and slivered almonds with a squeeze of lemons, served with rice pilaf and braised tofu. MMMMMMMMm I'm getting hungry for green beans........
