I'd like to hear what some of you guys think about the subject. Do you believe that one drug can help you control the abuse of another? (i.e. LSD) Is it possible to moderate yourself once you've "crossed the line from moderate use into abuse? Does such a line exsist? And lastly, the question that places this post in the spirituality section: Do you think that addiction is a spiritual disease? whatever that is? Is it possible to be 'addicted' to somethng positive? Etc Etc, just wanting to rap about that crazy think called the mind and it's odd divided behavior as represented by ADDICTION... peace.

I don't have much to say, but it's definitely something I've thought of.. I think this subject could be of critical importance if interpretted correctly.
I think that "spiritual healing" of the mind (meaning essentially repogramming yourself) could be a concept of critical importance to the masses.
Addiction is a crazy thing.. no matter what you're addicted to it can be a bad thing.. it simply breeds a specific state of mind of ego-dominance that one should be trying to avoid in general. Your ego feels the threat of not having what it deems "normal". Addictions seem to "off-balance" an individual spiritually.
I think addiction mainly has to do with relativity... we adapt constantly so we only know happiness or sadness, ease of action or difficulty, relatively to what we've experienced lately.
Once we've introduced something that makes it easier for us to be happy or easier for us to do something we are throwing our adaptation off-balance, basically.
If you frequently use marijuana you might find that you have a hard time relaxing when not stoned.
So yeah, basically what I'm saying is that moderation is key to all things. Due to our relative existance, (meaning our ability to adapt to new circumstance at all times) it's critically important to realize how vulnerable this very ability makes us. Not to others, but to ourselves, ironically.
Shit, I guess I DID have something to say.
I'm stoned. Sorry if I didn't make any sense! *flies away*

Yeah, I just find it interesting how HARD it is to be CONSISTENT. One day I feel like I NEVER want another drink or shot...that NIGHT it's a TOTALLY different story, y'know?
I guess I need to be more objective about my life or something. I think that psychedelic use is sometimes useful in gaining that objectivity. For me 'DXM' helped me to see my life from a COMPLETELY separate viewpoint. Ironically, I became 'fixated' on that very distance that helped me see and didn't want to come back, ...ever. As most people know, LSD spent some time as an experimental treatment for alcoholism. And I've heard about Exstacy and psilocybin being used in voluntary personality alteration. By Leary and Shulgin(sp?) along with others I guess. It's a weird thing. Most people I've talked to seem to think it's ALL OR NONE. But is that really so? Are there ANY rules or clues any of youhave found?
I see that out of sixteen views of this post, only one replied. What can this mean? Is everyone here in the 'ALL' category?
or maybe the subject just isn't worth thinking about for most people. *goes off to shoot some more Dextromethorphan* *dissolves into ephemera* *wonders if ephemera is really a word* PoOf!!

I'm an idiot. Just getting that out of the way.
Now, if you want to quit, you will. If you want to die, you will. If you want to suceed, you will.
You probably won't stop something you want to do.
