viable mycelium on agar?
    #2960181 - 08/03/04 12:55 PM (19 years, 7 months ago)

I've got a good spore print. Sporesyringe made > inoculation > ended up with some mushies...

I want to make a single strain on agar with the spores I got left from this print. Make a few selections of strong mycelium and use that as inoculation etc.

Now my question is: I know the spores are viable to grow some shrooms. But when I use the viable spores to germinate on the agar, and it works...Is the mycelium which grows on the agar now also viable for sure? They are viable to germinate, ok. but also viable to grow the shrooms in the end...?
Or has that nothing to do with each other?

It wont be a viable fruiting mycelium "for sure" but 999999.999% of the time its all good. I myself though, preffer to clone a good fruit, that way you can be 100% sure.

Yeah, wanted to clone also. But I was too late, I didn't had the time to do it when it was the right moment :frown:

But as I understand, I can be 'sure enough'...
Thanks.
