I bet our music collections have a lot of similarities. You should check out Lake Trout - I know a lot of people whose tastes are like yours, who absolutely love them...a lot of Dead/Phish-heads tend to go to their shows, too..if you ever get the chance to see them live, they're totally psychedelic.

Yeah, they're so weird they play on such strange bills...they'll be at jam-fests and open for Blues Traveler, or they'll headline a show of really hard bands at a club or something. Lately I can't stop listening to Kraftwerk!

Trans-Europe Express is great, but Computer World takes the cake. "I'm the operator with my pocket calculator." Whenever I hear that I just laugh and laugh and laugh...I like to get real blazedat night, put my computer speakers in my window and stand on the fire escape and watch the world go buy while Kraftwerk hums along...everything looks like clockwork.

I got to see Kraftwerk at Coachella, I was so glad to have the experience. It was only like the least 20-30 minutes of their set, after Radiohead was done, but it was absolutely sick. They had the hangar wired with speakers all around and they were playing with the stereo controls to make sounds jump all over the place - they played Numbers off of Computer World and it was unbelievably cool. Everyone was crunked the hell up and dancing their asses off while these 4 men sat stock-still in black suits and red ties, typing on laptops.

I feel loved, which is a great thing when you're sitting in a cubicle wishing you were anywhere but where you are. Thanks Hooty - I always think you're a cool motherfucker when I see your posts too!

Now, three questions:
1. Ever see Smashing Pumpkins live? I saw the show that was rescheduled because the original was the night after Jimmy Chamberlain and Jimmy Melvoin OD'ed on heroin. 2. What did you think of Zwan? 3. Ever see Zwan?

Wow man, that's cool. Was Billy all shy and nice? I loved seeing him on the Zwan DVD...he said a lot of really intriguing stuff. I thought the Zwan show was really really awesome...especially the gospel song they did the heavy version of - what was it, God's GOnna Set This World on Fire?
Jimmy fucking rules. Something about the way he hits the bass drum that gets me moving.
