Playing with guns

Is not fucking cool, even if they are toys. I've got a cheap little airsoft pistol that I bought to have battles with, I was about to stick it in a bag to pack it up, and I pulled the trigger by accident. I didn't even know it was cocked. It fired, and hit my beautiful flatscreen moniter point blank. I now have a nice little bullet mark where it shattered the liquid crystal inside. FUCK!

Yeah they hurt, last battle I took one in the eyeball. I wear glasses so I didn't have safety goggles and it flew in the side. Fuck my eye though, I'm so pissed about my moniter. At least it's at the bottom, and not right in the middle.......although maybe thats worse since litterally 1/4th of an inch lower and it wouldn't have hit the screen.

simple rules for firearms safty apply to all guns, although they arent lethal the same rules apply for an airsoft gun as well because they are dangerous. Airsoft guns are not toys by any means
1. Treat all guns as if they are cocked and loaded 2. never place your finger on the trigger unless you are ready to fire it. 3. make sure you know what is in the line of fire 4. never point a gun at anything you have no intention of shooting.
following these few little rules ensure that no one is accidentaly hurt My wife murdered my bathroom mirror because she was handling my .45 improperly, she swears that she only took it from the the drawer to find something, it was holstered with the trigger covered. My pistol has a 2lb trigger pull but also has a grip safety that has to be depressed to fire so this assured me that she removed it from the holster and had her hand wrapped around the grip before the reigger was touched

Yeah, I'm not taking any safety courses seeing as I don't even own a real gun. But this has definatly taught me a valuable lesson (fuckin' $300 lesson). But, I think rule #1 should be never keep a bullet in the chamber. And they are too toys, well the cheap ones at least....they do make some seriously serious ones. Had a .30-06 go off in the gun rack and blow a hole through the wall once. No one was within 10 feet of the thing at the time. I thought I was keen on gun safety before that, but there was one thing I forgot about. Never, never, never, never, never, leave a firearm chambered. The part that holds the firing pin back can suffer wear, and if it gets jarred in just the right fashion, boom. You can leave them loaded, but never chambered. P#1 is right about those rules, at all times, treat a firearm as if it is primed and ready. Just because it's not a .357 doesn't mean its not deadly. Even an air powered pellet gun could kill someone, if not grievously injure them. Skip the guns if you want to have a war with your friends, try tossing rocks at each other instead.

It shoots blastic bb's, and is powered by a spring. It's designed to shoot people with. A rock would cause a whole lot more damage. Paintball guns also cause more damage.

I already told you I took one to the eye, it just stung and watered for a minute or two. Everyone else wears safety goggles, I just wear my regular glasses which usually is enough. Paintball guns can shoot well over 400fps, these cheap little airsoft are lucky to get 200. The more expensive ones (gas powered) can shoot upwards of 300fps though. I've had bloody welts that lasted for days from playing paintball, these just sting for a minute. They are totally toys, just don't shoot your flatscreen with em and everything will be alright.

I dont see a saftey course as being needed if you excersize common sense and obey the rules for firearm saftey.

I always keep one chambered and never have had a problem with an accidental discharge, I have a real gun with a 'hair trigger' and still it has not happened to me.

thats your failing and sorry to say this but your lesson sounds deserved, treat all guns as weapons, if its capable of putting your eye out or getting lodged in your nose, popping a cap that can singe a few hairs or even pinching your finger then it should be treated as a firearm.
maybe that safety course freezy suggested is appropriate, I was lucky to have a mother that taught me to shoot and handle guns at an early age, my first was a .22 when I was 5 I have never had an 'accidental discharge' because I was taught that 'all guns are to be treated as loaded' and more importantly that 'all guns are dangerous regardless of the type of gun it is...

I had 10 stitches in my head from playing war with rocks and stuff... the key is to have the propper safety equipment regardless of what you are using...
about the rifle discharge... you may want to get the sear assembly checked out on that thing.
